Seminar on Asia - Center for Asian Studies
As global power dynamics shift with increasing speed and unpredictability, the Korean Peninsula finds itself at a critical juncture. We invite you to join us for a seminar exploring how the forces of geopolitical realignment, economic tensions and strategic rivalry are shaping the future of both ROK and DPRK in profoundly different ways.
From the intensifying U.S.-China competition with an escalating tariff war, to deepening Russia–North Korea ties, the two Koreas are navigating a world more uncertain than at any time in recent decades. For South Korea, these changes coincide with an imminent presidential election. The new administration will have to deal with the repercussions of recent domestic turmoil while simultaneously navigate regional politics with an unpredictable U.S. ally and increasingly assertive DPRK.
During this seminar Professor Victor Cha and Professor Ramon Pacheco Pardo will help us understand what lies ahead for the Korean Peninsula and how leadership decisions, both within Korea and abroad, could alter the regional balance for years to come.
