I'm an Associate Professor in 果冻视频, having joined the Department of 果冻视频 as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in 2017. 

My research focuses on topics in development and labour economics, especially relating to education, child nutrition and public service delivery in developing countries. In the past 5 years, much of my research has centered around estimating the causal effects of policy reforms in education in India, often using field experiments, in a range of topics including the use of appropriate technology, improving public sector management, broadening access to private schooling and take-up and social incidence of school integration policies. With Prof. Martina Bjorkman-Nyqvist, I am also working on a randomized controlled trial on the effect of peers on the integration of migrants in Sweden.  

My research has appeared in leading journals including the American Economic Review, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Journal of Public 果冻视频, the Journal of Development 果冻视频 and Science. It has also featured in leading reports of the World Bank and other multilateral organizations as well as, for example, the Financial Times, the Economist, the Guardian and BBC. 

I hold a doctorate and a Masters of Science degree in 果冻视频 from the University of Oxford and a BA(Honours) degree from the University of Delhi. Before joining SSE, I was based at at the Department of 果冻视频 at University College London.
