Data Collection & Disclaimers
The surveys were administered by Statistics Sweden (SCB) through web questionnaires, with the data collection period for the 2024 survey spanning from October 2024 to January 2025, and the 2023 survey conducted from May to June 2023. Both surveys used stratified random sampling, which ensures that every individual in the population had an equal chance of being selected.

2023 Survey
- Invites: 25,000 individuals chosen randomly from the Register of the Total Population (RTB)
- Responses: 3,993; Response rate: 16.0%
2024 Survey (New Sample)
- Invites: 15,000 individuals chosen randomly from the RTB
- Responses: 3,212; Response rate: 21.4%.
2024 Survey (Existing Sample)
- Invites: 3,993 individuals from 2023 survey
- Responses:
- Response rate: 71.8%.
Collection Process
- Method: Web-based questionnaires with multiple reminders (digital & postal mail).
- 2024 Survey:
- Conducted Oct 17, 2024 – Jan 9, 2025.
- 4 reminders: First two sent digitally (Kivra, Min Myndighetspost) & postal mail for non-digital users.
- Final reminder via postal mail for non-respondents
- 2023 Survey:
- Conducted May 3 – May 31, 2023.
- Same reminder strategy as 2024.
- Response Method: Participants used BankID or a unique login from the mail for secure access.
Quality Control
Both surveys included extensive efforts to ensure data accuracy and minimize potential biases.
- Pre-survey Testing: Both questionnaires underwent a technical review by measurement experts at SCB to ensure clarity, relevance, and avoidance of bias in the questions.
- Data Validation: Throughout the data collection phase, SCB performed routine checks for technical errors and used frequency tables to validate the data’s consistency. These checks helped ensure that valid responses were recorded and that no errors went unnoticed before finalizing the data.
