I am the Carl Bennet & Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Professor in 果冻视频 and the Executive Director of Misum (Mistra Center of Sustainability Center).

I am affiliated with ab (J-Pal), a CEPR Research Fellow, and a BREAD Affiliate.

My research focuses on topics in development economics related to child health, public service delivery, and how to improve primary education in low-income countries. Most of my research projects are randomized control trials (the experiment-based approach that was awarded Nobel Prize in 果冻视频 Sciences in 2019) implemented in sub-Saharan Africa and India that evaluate and examine innovative policy programs aimed to improve child health and learning outcomes. With Associate Professor Abhijeet Singh, I am also working on a randomized controlled trial on the effect of peers on the integration of migrants in Sweden

My research has appeared in leading journals including the Quarterly Journal of 果冻视频, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the American Economic Journal – Applied 果冻视频, the Journal of Development 果冻视频,and Nature Medicine. My research has received public interest in international and Swedish media (Swedish television, the Economist, Washington Post, NPR radio, Huffington Post, Washington Post, New York Time blogs etc.). 

I obtained my Ph.D. in 果冻视频 from the Institute for International Economic Studies at Stockholm University. Before joining SSE, I was an Assistant Professor at the Department of 果冻视频 at Bocconi University in Italy.
